Studentsofmedicine.com just released the 2nd edition of their popular premed guidebook, "Getting into today's highly competitive US medical schools". The book was written by Dr. Jimenez, founder and president of studentsofmedicine.com. Dr. Jimenez says that he put the book together because he knew there was nothing out there like it, and many premed students were missing out. Unlike many, Dr. Jimenez was lucky to have two older brothers and a father as physicians. When it came time for him to pursue medicine, he had many years of firsthand experience at his disposal, which came in handy. The experiences of his family in applying and getting accepted into medical schools showed him ways to take steps ahead of other applicants. When it was finally his time to apply to medical school, he had a lot to talk about on applications and interviews, and ultimately choices on where to go. This book provides Dr. Jimenez's best tips and advice, in addition to the advice of his two eldest brothers, father, many classmates, and friends who have all successfully applied and entered medical school. The first edition sold out rather quickly, and this new 2008 edition provides up to date facts and information about every step in applying to medical school.
Dr. Jimenez graduated from the prestigious, Dartmouth/Brown medical school program. He has mentored students of all ages who want to become doctors, and worked with the admissions committees of several Ivy League medical schools, and colleges. Currently, Dr. Jimenez conducts alumni interviews for Dartmouth college undergraduate admissions.
